RJ Rockers, Spartanburg’s only microbrewery, is expanding its operations to provide its line of high-quality beers to more customers throughout the Southeast. Along with moving its operations into the heart of Spartanburg, the company plans to invest $2 million and create 10 new jobs in the next three years.

QuickJobs Carolina™ Receives Grant Funds to Expand Accelerated Workforce Training Courses  

A collaboration among state and local agencies aims to increase the state’s capacity to provide opportunity for dislocated workers and eligible adults to receive the job training to meet the needs of today’s challenging marketplace and to do so at an accelerated rate. The State Workforce Investment Board in coordination with the Department of Commerce today announced that it will provide a $4 million grant to the South Carolina Technical College System’s QuickJobs Carolina™ initiative. The grant funds are part of South Carolina’s portion of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) allocation in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. The funds were secured in March and Commerce’s proposal was later approved by the State Workforce Investment Board.

Investor News --- Two Leading Air Taxi Companies Launch Innovative Air Taxi 'Flight Network'  

Industry leading Air Taxi providers SATSair and ImagineAir have announced a "cooperative services" agreement to begin "flight networking" to efficiently expand their respective network across a 10 state service area. The goal of the agreement is to provide customers with greater access to next generation air taxi services. Both air taxi operators offer on-demand flights to over 1000 airports in the Southeast and will retain its respective pricing structure and operational control for the flights it operates.
